Tiled Conservatory Roof Southend

Use your conservatory, all year round with a tiled conservatory roof

Greenaok Concept & Design Ltd are the first choice for many who are looking for tiled conservatory roofs in Southend and all of the surrounding areas.

Conservatories have becoming more popular over the last decade, but many homeowners struggle to find a way where they can use theirs all year round. In the summer, the combination of the hot sun and glass can deter you from sitting in the conservatory and in the winter, this tends to be the opposite problem. Conservatories in the winter tend to be rather cold.

At Greenoak Concept & Design Ltd, we have been providing professional tiled conservatory roof installations where you can enjoy your conservatory no matter the time of the season. Our versatile roofing systems bring can be placed on any type of conservatory so you will never have the worry about replacing the whole structure.

Frequently Asked
Questions

There are many questions that arise when you are considering having one of our lightweight conservatory roofs installed. This FAQ section answers some of the most common questions we come across. If what you had in mind is not mentioned here, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to answer any question you may have.

Planning permission is not required to install our lightweight tiled conservatory roof, as you are only replacing a roof on your existing conservatory.
Yes, they are. We take care of the building regulations on your behalf and provide you with the relevant paperwork.
People offen think that replacing their glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof with our lightweight tiled roof system will suddenly make their space dark – but this is not the case. The internal roof is completed with a plastered finish ready to be painted white. The ceiling pitches upwards and is quite spacious creating a large surface area for the white paint to reflect the light from all of the surrounding windows. The room will in fact be very bright and airy. There are also options to add even more light by opting for roof windows.
This is very much dependant on each job as size, specifications and complexities need to be taken into account. However on an average job, the old roof can be removed in a day and the frames for the new roof can be installed the following day. The boarding, tiling and internal plaster boarding take a further few days on average. The final stage, the internal plastering, typically takes a full day. This is all done with minimal disruption to your home.
A log burner can indeed be installed with our lightweight tiled roof.
Yes it can. Our sales team can guide you through the options available to you but many of the roofs we’ve installed have been in addition to building work being carried out such as removing the dividing wall and opening up the conservatory into an adjacent room.

Stay on the right side of Building Control

Local authorities in England and Wales don’t currently consider solid conservatory roofs replacements to come under Building Regulations, if in doubt please contact your local authority or speak with a member at Greenoak Concept & Design for further advice.

This can be costly and time-consuming for the homeowner. The good news is that our roofing partner SupaLite, together with their licensed approved inspector, Stroma, will take care of the building control certification process on your behalf. Please note all tiled roofs supplied via Greenoak Concept & Design including full building control.

Always Check

When planning your conservatory, you should check the Planning Portal website to find the full list of limits and conditions that your conservatory must comply with. The website is split into sections, as there are different regulations for properties in England and Wales, and you may find that if you live on designated land or in a Site of Special Scientist Interest, you have to comply with stricter regulations.

Greenoaks installed a replacement patio door for us which required them to negotiate with another of our suppliers as the door was onto a balcony. All the team at Greenoaks acted in a professional manner including office, survey and installation, making it stress free for us. We are very pleased with the final product.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all at Greenoak Concept and Design for installing our Superlite roof. We are so very pleased with it.We were looking to have the roof of our conservatory replaced because of a constant leak every time it rained. I don't think we would have thought about it otherwise. But I have to say it is the best thing we ever did. It has turned our conservatory into a proper room. It is just so much warmer. We did a lot of research on line and was very impressed with the Superlite roof. We looked for a company that fitted it and found Greenoak and I amso glad we did.The service we received was first class.Mike and Mark did the actual fitting. It was a huge job but nothing was too much trouble. I have never known such clean and tidy workers. Everything was cleared up before they left each day and the same for the man that fitted the plaster board, the plasterer and the electrician.I am pleased to say that everything ran like clockwork. We were kept informed every step of the way and, if I needed to talk to someone, there was always someone in the office to speak to.I would not hesitate to use Greenoak Concept and Design in the future and would recommend them to everyone.
